Every year, the National Football League seems to endure several negative stories featuring its players who have been accused of wrongdoing — including allegations of a player attempting to deny paternity of a child. However, in one story that recently became public, Josh Norman, who plays for the Washington Redskins, stated his intentions of seeking to be a part of his child’s life, even though he is not in a relationship with the baby’s mother. The parents purportedly had a brief relationship last year that resulted in the child being born in late January.

Norman consented to paternity testing that confirmed he is the biological father. Rather than denouncing fatherhood, he has sought to devise a custody agreement that will grant him time with his daughter. In addition to seeking parenting time, he is hoping to establish “reasonable” child support payments.

It is unclear whether the court in his case will agree to the child custody plans he has devised. He purportedly did express doubts as to the amount of support he may be ordered to pay, as he feels the child would not need an amount based on his current salary.
