Initial Consultation Rate

Schaffner Family Law does not offer free consultations. Instead we offer a paid, 45-minute initial consultation with one of our attorneys. Attorney Tasha Schaffner’s rate is $350 for 45 minutes and Attorney Jennifer Conner’s rate is $250 for 45 minutes.

Why We Charge for the Initial Consultation 

Our goal in your consultation is to understand the dynamic of the parties and plan for the future. We’ll go through how your future life may change as a result of your family law issue. If you’re paying or receiving spousal support or child support, we’ll also look at how that may change. And, if you’re retired, we’ll help you understand how the division of your assets may look. 

By the end of the consultation, we’ll have covered your options. If divorce is a way to proceed, we will recommend avenues on which to proceed, but we will also offer other solutions if needed. Our attorneys want to leave you and your family as unscathed as possible, which is why we provide transparent advice that will help you make fully informed decisions.

What to Prepare Before a Consultation

To make the most of your consultation, you should prepare. Gather the following financial documentation so we can help find you customized solutions:

• Tax returns
• Pay stubs
• Home value and mortgage balances
• Business information
• Prenuptial agreements
• Previously filed divorce documents, if applicable
• List of questions you have
